John R.

PADI IDC Staff Instructor

John worked for eight years as a high school physics and special education teacher in the U.S. and has been a dive instructor on Roatan since 2021. John's teaching experience shines through when explaining the basics of dive physics to a beginner diver or nerding out on the boat with the most experienced technical divers. Diving with John means you will find the best dive sites in Roatan, and you will receive the expert training of a professional educator.

Captain Denver

PADI Divemaster / Shop Manager

Denver is a native of Roatan. He grew up surrounded by the turquoise waters and vibrant marine life that have become his life's passion. As a seasoned boat captain and divemaster, Denver has spent countless days exploring the island’s world-class dive sites, honing his skills, and ensuring every guest’s safety and enjoyment.

No set schedule

We do not have a set schedule for diving. We do our absolute best to operate on your schedule and provide you with a totally personalized experience. We will choose the best times for you and your dive team.

No crowded spaces

People do not come to Roatan hoping to find a crowded, noisy, and rushed environment. We all want to relax and with our small group diving you will not have to deal with noisy crowds disrupting your experience.

No sharing the boat

Fill the boat with your friends and family. You get to dive with the buddies that you choose and we can create the best experience for your dive team.

We will do our best to make sure you do not have to share the boat with other large groups. As a small shop, most days are very quiet and we can change our schedule to avoid sharing the boat with other divers. Reach out to reserve a private boat for a half day or full day and we can guarantee the availability for your group, your schedule, your adventure.

No unnecessary limitations

Most dive shop need to make a compromise when selecting dive sites to accomodate the different dive groups on the boat. We will bring you to the best dive sites and dive the profile that is best for you and your buddy team.

No unexpected changes

We will never change or delay your dive plan to accomodate another diver or group. Of course, circumstances may arise that require us to change our plans, but we will never change your plan to accomodate another customer.

Remember, we are usually underwater, but we will respond as soon as we dry off!

What makes Salty Boogers different?

At Salty Boogers, our goal is to host ONE chill group each week. Every other shop is trying to bring in as many divers as possible to maximize their revenue. We want to provide you with the most relaxing and enjoyable experience possible. Instead of having a busy day in a crowded dive shop, we get to share an incredible adventure with a few new friends.

Partnered with Sea Hunt Divers

We are primarily diving out of Sea Hunt Divers in West End, Roatan. Sea Hunt Divers is fully equipped for every level of recreational and technical diving. They also have a bar and restaurant on site, The Deco Stop, that makes nearly every item from scratch!

We also have a relationship with a number of other dive shops on Roatan, so we could possibly change shops to access new sites, special day trips, or larger boats.
