Dive into the details
What is tec diving like in Roatan?
Roatan is one of the best places in the world for technical diving. The ease of access to the reef is second to none and there are very few places in the world allow you to easily dive past 200 feet and still spend your decompression on a shallow reef. On most days of the year, we have warm water, calm seas, great visibility, and minimal currents. With our very short boat rides, we can spend more time under the water instead of above it.
Why go decompression diving with Salty Boogers?
We offer private diving that is tailored specifically to your dive team. For technical divers, this means everything we do is focused on you. You will be supported by a team of trained technical divers who understand the risks involved in your dive plan. There will not be any complications or conflicts caused by other divers and there will be no compromises on dive sites or durations. Your team will have the access to the dive sites you want and we will work to accomodate any dive plan that is within responsible limits.
How much does it cost for decompression diving?
Pricing for decompression diving or technical diving varies based on your needs for breathing gasses, bottom time, rental equipment, and possibly fuel. Please reach out to us for a quote that is specifically tailored to the requirements for your dive plans.
Night dive or dawn dive: +$10 per dive
LATE night dive +$20 per dive (9pm - 6am)
A surcharge for extra fuel will be added for distant dive sites that require a long boat ride of more than 30 minutes. There are DOZENS of excellent dive sites within a 30 minute boat ride including some of Roatan's most popular sites. This includes great dive sites for technical diving like Texas, the Josie J, Hole in the Wall, or the Odyssey Wreck.
What time do your dives go out?
Whenever you want! At Salty Boogers, we aim to be as flexible as possible in order to accomodate your wants and needs. Just let us know what the schedule you would like and we will do our best to make it happen. For technical divers, we understand that the best timing will depend on your specific dive plan. We will work with you to make sure your team can accomplish your dive objectives in a safe and efficient manner.
Are you prepared to handle a dive emergency?
Of course! Our staff members are trained Emergency First Responders and we of course keep an oxygen kit on the boat. In addition, we keep ample supplies of oxygen and helium on hand to blend any emergency stage bottles for divers to prevent an emergency before it can arise. If we do need to respond to a serious medical emergency, the closest 24 hour clinic is three a three minute drive, and we are ten minutes from the recompression chamber at the Cornerstone Clinic at Anthony's Key Resort.
